Leather Vest

Recommended Posts

I am not sure I am posting in the right forum but, I am interested in making vest and looking for a good tutorial on pattern making and the art of sewing vest. Does anyone know of a good place to get me going. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thank you all in advance

Have you thought of going to Goodwill and / or Salvation Army store?

You can usually find several there, . . . get the one that fits you for less than $5, . . . take it home, . . . dissect it with a razor knife, . . . iron the pieces flat, . . . you have your pattern.

AND, . . . if you buy the right one, . . . throw away the outside, . . . use the liner on your leather vest.

May God bless,

Dwight

PS: What part of cheese land do you call home???

Portage, Wi.

I have a pattern, I need to learn more on sewing. I have a Cowboy 4500 an I am also wondering if they make a hem plate for this machine . As to hem around edges.

What I mean by pattern making is, how to measure a person and create a custom pattern

if you do a google search, you might find out how to measure up a person. i remember a website where i saw a tutorial on it. i wish i could remember the name of it.

also - there is a forum on this site for vests, collars and cuffs and all sort of wearables.

Here is a YouTube on creating a pattern with duct tape. It's for a corset but you might can adapt the techniques to a vest.
