Have any of you ever heard of anyone using baby wipes to clean upholstery? I would think absolutely not. But a friend is recommending them to her mother. I told her that I wouldn't recommend it, mainly since I seem to recall they have some form of alcohol in them.. As well as disinfectants and such.

I've always used Lexol.

What are you using?

Superior vinyl/leather Cleaner, Murphy's Oil Soap, Lexol Cleaner,Simple Green/Water 25/75. I've used them all, not much difference, except maybe price. Try everything and anything on an inconspicuous spot first; you never know what something is constructed with unless you made it yourself.

Maybe that's what the previous owners of my couch used to ruin the finish.

For friends that want something super easy, I suggest Fiebing's 4 way care. Tractor supply carries it and all you have to do is rub it in with a soft cloth. It's easy to keep a bottle in the living room and go over the couch while watching TV. I got a free leather couch that had seen better days and I didn't want to go through the process of refinishing it, but this stuff has kept it going for years now and the leather on the arms hasn't cracked any more since I got it. If it's dirty I would suggest a separate cleaner first.

How about Oakwood saddle soap?

I used it on everything from boots to jackets and it cleaned nicely leaving no stains whatsoever.
