October purse pattern

Recommended Posts

Here's a carving pattern I drew this weekend. It is made to fit the purse in Al Stohlmans book "How to carve leather" (I enclose a photo of the book). In the book is 4 patterns I think page 15, 17, 19 something, this is my version of it. In the cirkle there could be an animal, initials or a full name?

I prefer carving and tooling all the acorns but one of the craftools can be used.

Good luck and don't forgett...If you use it post a picture here somewhere on LW, we all love photos:-)

Have a great Columbus day//Tina

Thank you, Tina! This looks very nice and I will give it a try as soon as I get some time. Been wanting to try out ClayB's tutorial and Freak's painting - perfect pattern for both. Promise to post pics when I do get it done.

I'm just working myself through this pattern and ontop I ended up with a piece of leather that I think has been wet before (?) I'ts hard as a rock in some places and "curl up" very easy *Grrrrrrrrrrrr* What ClayB tutorial are you refering too? Please, paste in a link if you have one:-)

Finally done with the temperamentful piece of leather *pheuw*

Here's a peak at it. I have scanned the leather so all the lifting that is made don't show up...I'll try taking a better photo of it when it's all dyed and such.
