electrathon Report post Posted January 11, 2014 I want to rubber coat the bottom of a pair of moccassins I am making with a soft rubber sole. I know moccassins are often coated with a mixture of Barge with leather dust stirred into it. Not sure how much of either or if I should mix anything else into the mixture with it. Any answers woudl be appreciated. Aaron
Frank Report post Posted January 11, 2014 I used barge and crumb rubber that they use for bed liners. The crumb rubber I found comes in black and brown. It works very well. I poured enough barge into it that it would apply rather easily without being too thick. You want it somewhat more on the liquid side so the barge will set down into the leather fibers. Not really an exact measurement, I just went with what seemed right at the time.
