  1. Hello to all, my first post to this forum, although the knowledge here has saved me many times.. It is time for me to buy a cylinder arm industrial machine to sew leather items, I will be sewing from soft leather wallets (mostly) to hard leather sandals (just a couple of pairs per month) and I have a local dealer that has two machines on sale: -- Adler 69-372 made in W.Germany & -- Sunstar "sort of replica of the above" (Korean leading sewing machine manufacturer) Needless to say, I want to go for the Adler, don't know exactly why, I guess the recognizable brand stems "safety"..it costs more however. The technician though says that both are virtually the same, that all parts for both are easily available, offers service support and warranty for both and urges me to go for the Sunstar since it is about 250$ cheaper. For my budget limitations the Korean machine looks like the winner here, but my instinct tells me I should be careful and maybe safer to go for the Adler since it will also have a greater reselling value if/when I will need to upgrade to a new machine. What should I do? Should I "risk" for the Korean or invest on the Adler, and mostly, what are the factors contributing to the decision? I forgot to mention that I will be sewing very close to the edges of the different layers of leather, i.e veg tanned (top) and suede (bottom). Thank you all for your help. X.
