Hi From Africa

Recommended Posts

Hi my name is Andries and I live in South Africa. I have been making knives and thus sheath's for around 6 years. I have recently started playing around with other leather projects. My first two non sheath projects ever are included. One is a moulded cover for a flask from veg tan and the other a belt from bridle that I made for a family members birthday. I look forward to learning from you guys since my work and tools are very basic at this stage. Thanks for all the great info on this site!

Thanks guys. Looking forward to do some more belts for myself in the next few weeks. I Have some J Baker Bridle belts (Black and Aus Nut color) that needs the edges to be finished and stitched and then they are good to go. Will post once my supplies arrive via the post, which is hopefully soon. I will still decide if I do the overkill Chicago plus stitch or just stitch- all the same to me although doing both falls within my realm of over engineering (-,

Hi Andries,

Great to see a fellow RSA newbie on the site - our numbers are growing!

You are going to learn a lot from these forums.

Waar in die grootte RSA is jy - PM my?

Welcome Andries! Like you I went from leatherwork to accomodate my knives to leatherwork outside of sheaths. I think you'll find it a nice change-up in your workflow. About the time I'm burning out on knife making I work in a few leather projects, and vice versa.
