Pontius Report post Posted July 6, 2014 Summer is here and I'm in need of a fly swatter, so I thought about making something like the one in the included picture I found by googling leather fly swatter. I would like to hear what you think is the right type of rivets, or other kind of fasteners for making a swatter like this? I would like the rivets to be flush on the wood side so that they don't damage anything. I was thinking using Chicago screws and counterbore in the wood, but would like to know if anyone knows if there are better and/or simpler ways?
