Merdallions On Back Of Cantel?

Recommended Posts

Please tell me about the medallions I see on the backs of cantels every now and again?

What are they for?

Where do you get them?

How are they attached?

Thanks gang!

Merry Christmas!

Joel :)

Joel,

The couple I have done are like horn caps with a little larger and longer screw in them (I think about 1 1/4'' long). I planned the layout in advance and tooled a "frame" border around it. Sorry, no pic.s

There may be other ways of attachment but I have not seen them.

Rick

Thanks for the replies rickybobby, and Steve Brewer.

So they are for decoration it seems. Not for a special club or a sign of achievement but maybe could be.

I suppose that they must be custom made right?

Do you have a maker you could recommend, or perhaps some place to purchase from?

Thanks

Joel

If you just want them plain you could just use regular conchos, but if you want brands it would be better to put them on with escutcheon pins, otherwise if you try to screw it in it might be hard to get the brand lined up right. You might check with Hansen Western Gear. Chris
