Belt Case Holster For Mini-Revolver

Recommended Posts

I've owned a North American Arms Mini-Revolver for the past 10 or so years. I've carried it in a pocket holster, shirt pocket, and hung by a lanyard around my neck. It's been a backup to my backup weapon as an LEO. I've made several pouch type knife sheaths over the past several years and have noticed some real nice custom leather Ipod and Blackberry cases lately. I decided to make a belt case for my mini-revolver.

This ones made from 6/7 oz. Hermann Oak cowdide and the revolver is wet formed to the case. I did some stampting along the stitch lines.

If I build any others, I need to make the case a little wider so I can either relocate the snap over the cylinder or below the trigger either to the right or left depending if its built for right or left hand carry. I finished it in my new tan color and it matches my new beltslide holster.

As always, critiques are welcome.

Randy

Looks great! Conceals the revolver nicely.

I am curious as to why someone in a Yankee state would put a Texas decoration on this. (Not objecting, mind you, just observing.)

I'm not an LEO, but I wonder if the snap is really a secure way to protect the gun from being grabbed when worn on the belt.

Randy...I've been discussing a derringer holster with a buddy who asked if I would make him one...I've sent your post to him to see what he thinks....I believe it's a pretty cool idea.

Tex Jack....don't know about Randy, but for me the saying holds true....you can take the kid out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the kid.....

Rick,

in Michigan, by way of Comfort, TX.

Oh isn't that the truth. I have that Texas fever now being overseas for 3 yrs!

Now there are some things that a girl just shouldn't say to a guy, but Randy, I'm going to do it anyway... It's so cute!:spoton:

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Texas Jack

Although, I'm stuck in the cowboy boot barren and very currupt State of Illinois, I've been to Texas 3 times during the past few years. I studied boot making under Carl Chappell in Saint Jo in 2006. I also went to the Boot and Saddle Makers Roundup in Wichata Falls in 2005-2006. I know quite a few of the cutom boot makers in Texas and really like your state. I wear this one just forward of my weakside hip. Up here no one would ever quess it contains a revolver. It looks like a case for carrying a Black Berry or other tecno-geek device.

If your buddy wants one, go for it. That was a fun project.

I'm sure you won't be the last lady to tell me "it's so cute."

Hard to tell if the Gov was more corrupt than most of our gov't officials, or just more clumsy.

Obviously your design shows good taste, and I have respect for an LEO with the smarts to make sure that every situation will find him still armed and ready to make the world a dangerous place for bad guys.
