Holster For Pistol With Laser/light

Recommended Posts

I have a customer with a request that is a new one for me. He has an HK with a bulky laser sight and light combination mounted under the barrel. He wants a pancake style concealment holster. Does anyone have any tips, photos or suggestions on handling this situation?

Concealed as in IWB, or just a high riding belt hoslter? A widebody auto like the HK PLUS a light/laser is going to be very uncomfortable for IWB unless the customer has some pants two sizes too big.

As far as making the holster, it will end up being almost a pouch ( with some molding around the trigger guard) due to the large blocky modified shape of the muzzle. For this style, I think a closed bottom is more of a benefit than an open bottom, and a retention device (strap or pinch) is a must.

No, not IWB, but just a high, FBI draw belt holster. Yes, I was thinking it would have to be more pouch like, with a thumb break. Maybe molded around the top of the slide, too, with a front sight groove. You're right, probably best with a closed bottom.

Normow, . . . PM me with your snail mail address, . . . I'll send you some help.

I teach this particular holster class at a local Tandy shop in Columbus, Ohio.

May God bless,

Dwight
