Tandy Tracing Film Rolls Up!

Recommended Posts

Other than the obvious, is there any way to get this film to lay flat? Ive tried to press it out but it rolls right up again as soon as the weight is lifted.

Store it flat... it will eventualy stay that way. Cut it in 12" or 18" or whatever size, and stack the pieces flat. Maybe put a piece of something on top (posterboard? or whatever you have). I put some in the center desk drawer (wide and flat) and now it doesn't curl. Don't take long, but I just leave it in the bottom of the drawer all the time.

Ok. Wil do. I had it pressed out for a few days with 20 lbs of barbell plates over planed lumber. I figured that'd do but it just rolled back up into a tight tube! Wish my "memory" was that good :-)

It may take months or longer. The answer is tape it down. Or stop using it and photocopy your image onto paper. You will eliminate one third of your errors in tracing that way (you only trace it twice, not three times).

Yes sir. I have it flattened out again and Im sure, given sufficient time, it will behave. Having said that, I have a new roll and its working awesome. Kind of an ex wife / new wife analogy. Oops! Was that out loud?
