I'm trying to use an Allen bolt that fits inside the head of a snap. This will be mostly used to attach scout straps to a knife sheath. The problem is I cant find a bolt head narrow enough to fit inside the snap. I know I can turn down the head to fit, but was wanting to know some ideas to accomplish this. Any comments would be great!

Thanks!

Allen screws don't have heads.

Can you drill out the snap?

If not, you can put the threaded portion inside something like a small rubber fuel line, place inside a drill chuck and hold a file to the head as the bolt spins in the chuck.

See edit above, you could also use a nut inside the chuck if you don't have any tubing.

Are you trying to screw the snap tp a t-nut? If you don't have to have the allen head and phillips will work Tandy and other sources have screws made to fit in the line 24 snap for that purpose. https://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-usd/search/searchresults/11383-00.aspx

Thanks for the link.

I was needing to bolt on the stud part of the snap.

I was going to bolt into the female part of a Chicago

Screw. Basically creating a stud\chicago screw hybrid.
