BHP what is your dying/finishing process if you don't mind sharing? its fantastic. and the boning does without saying. I assume you vacuum/press then detail?

I dip dye. For most colors, I cut out the pieces and then dye them, then assemble and so on... However, for items that will end up being all black, I dye as the second-to-last step (after the holster has been assembled, molded, and dried). Doing it that way is a trade-off -- there are sometimes challenges getting the dye to penetrate the burnished areas, but it does avoid getting black dye in my house or rubbing off on my clothes and gun molds.

As the last step, I apply the finish by submerging the holster in acrylic (I prefer Resolene at 50% strength), and then hang it up to dry.

For the molding, I use a hydraulic press, then follow it up with hand pressure for the deeper areas, then do the details with a bone folder.
