Thanks. It's actually technically a "Trap shell box". Trap shooters use these by just sliding a box of 2 3/4" shells right into the pouch and can easily reach in to reload.

Ok, I know nothing about shooting trap... how do you cook them?

 

 

Really nice shell box - looks likes one long piece that forms the front, back and bottom with two side pieces sewn on - is this correct?  I have made a couple of similar shell boxes and I used one piece of leather cut into a cross shape and when you fold all the arms up together and see them up it looks almost the same as your case.  Just wondering if your method is easier to cut out and sew?

I got a recipe for trap soup, not many care for it though, It maybe because its Powdered!

The shellbox is a 2 piece construction, this was a new design I was trying and I think it's how I will make them from now on

Thanks - I am going to try this design - looks like it will be easier to cut the pieces!
