  1. I got it moving. Now, after I get the WD-40 off everything. What type of lube should I use for this machine. I imagine that different parts need different type of lubricant. I keep finding info saying all kinds of stuff from regular sewing machine oil to ATF even kerosene and I'm not exactly sure what info to go with. If there is a consensus on this I'd welcome the info. Thanks PXL_20251209_021619880.mp4
  2. Someone was throwing it away at the dump. I got there just in time to tell them to stop and load it into my truck. I might just try making sandals, it would be a good at to lean to use the machine and pay for the materials I use. Thanks for the info.
  3. I do infact want to get into cobbler's work I am also leaning cordwaining. I knew what the machine was when I saw it. I couldn't believe my eyes (don't know why someone would throw it away) I was just wondering if a machine like this could be used for anything else.
  4. I'm glad I got there when I did. If would have been there earlier I'd have missed it or later it would have probably been a pile of broken rubble in the pit.
  5. I went to the city dump to throw away some trash and I came home with this Beauty. It's all locked up but I think I can free it up. I am learning how to make shoes but I also make other things. So I was wondering. If I can get this machine going, what else can they be used for?
  6. Unfortunately. I've not been able to find the parts I'm looking for. They are quite hard to find. I'm working on making them myself. For now I have been making due with manually moving the work myself without the stitch length regulator. Mine is also a Pederson 308. This and the Junker & Ruh are identical machines.
  7. That would be amazing. If you do please let me know, and how much you are asking for them
  8. Thank you, that would be great. These are the parts that go to the stitch length regulator.
  9. I still don't have the correct parts but I made it work(to a point) I manually adjusted the stitch length by hand and I ran it through the tensioner of my Singer 51w54. The top tension is a bit off but considering how I have it rigged up, I think it's alright.
  10. Wow yours look way better than mine. They are amazing machines. Now that I have mine up and running it makes working on things much easier. I find that post beds are some of the most versatile machine out there. I don't have too much experience with several others but I've used a cylinder bed and flat and I like my post bed much better.
  11. Ok. So I got it home and I was able to find one of the pieces. (You never know what you'll find at the flea market) I still need the stitch length set screw assembly. If someone has one of these machines and they wouldn't mind showing me how it goes together. I might be able to make one for it.
  12. Cool, thank you. I'll keep an eye out. I didn't think to go on a German page like that.
  13. Thank you. I'll just buy one I should learn how to disassemble this machine anyway.
  14. I'll add some images of the machine. Maybe some of you will see any other parts that are missing that I did not catch
  15. Yeah, I have a few needles. I looked through Ebay and they currently don't have the parts I need. I'm sure I can make the tensioner and the plate thing myself but the screw for the stitch length is another story. If I knew the thread pitch and size, I might be able to make one on the lathe but I'm not sure. never made a screw before. I do have a machine shop near by maybe I'll go to them if I can find the info I need. thanks for the help.
