Thank you very much. I think I know where that is, it used to be the old Tandy leather right there at Tampa and Saticoy if I am thinking correctly. I will try and be there next Tuesday.

Does anyone know of any classes in the Los Angeles area or Ventura CA area? I sit here reading as much as I can and have gone and bought books,tools, leather and so on. I am just afraid to even try anything thinking I will just screw it up. Tandy here has a somewhat class but I am not really sure how it works (or I am not understanding how it works). They said you come in during class hours with your project and they answer your questions, I can do that here. I want to find something that they say this is what we are going to do and this is how you do it. I figure I can airbrush so I understand the art part of it, understanding the you start here and this is what the tools do part I am lost. I read the section tonight on the edge of the leather and I am really confused on that part now. I would like to also know how you build a vacum form. I had back surgery a while ago so I am not working as much as I normally do so this is suppose to be something for me to do to keep me from sitting here getting depressed I am not working, it isn't working right now. I think that was it but I want the muzzle to go into something to keep it protected and the clip part on the top I think to hold the pistol in place. I will post a picture of the pistol later so maybe some ideas can come up. Thanks for the help.

I have a 15 in barrel Thompson Contender. Anyone done a holster for one? I know what I want but have no idea where to start to design or make it. Someone had posted a picture of a short shotgun with a wood pistol grip (movie prop is what I think it was) and now I can't find it. If someone had seen that, that is what I would like to try.It would be a belt with a flat wider piece against the leg, a pocket on the bottom the muzzle would go in, a "U" piece on top that the pistol would slide back in and lock in place and a tie strap on the bottom to tie around my leg. That is the only way I can explain it. Any ideas?

Can a few people post some pictures so a newbie can see the difference in them? I want to learn how to do some of this as a hobbie but I am not sure what works best.

Ok so for my next question here. I took the chance and was able to get the saddle I have apart pretty easy, actually easier than I thought it would be. Just really had to sit back and really look at it for a while and take my time. Now the question is, the saddle had been stored for a long time it seems. I have put neatsfoot oil on it and it seems to as fast as I put any on it soaks it right up. How much should I be putting on? Or is there too much?

I will have to take some pictures of it and see about posting them. The problem is trying to find someone to teach is impossible here in Los Angeles. People just don"t really do any of the work here so it is always learn as you go for me. Gun owning, horse loving, hunter , redneck born in Los Angeles, BOY did I get placed in the wrong place.

Ok, this is my first post and so first off let me say I have looked at everyones work and everything I see is beautiful work. So now on to my stupid VERY NEW-B question. I have an old saddle and want to do some work on it. I am some what afraid to take it apart. What is the safest way to take it apart? And would those Stohlman's Encyclopedias be worth buying?
