About Me
I'm part owner of a leather machinery company, but am joining Leatherworker.net personally, not to solicit our company.
My Dad Conrad Naegle, who grew up between Arizona and California, was a Saddle and Harness maker for many years, also working in Hollywood props and special effects, and also had a business restoring and reproducing vintage travel trunks. Eventually my Dad found he enjoyed working on leatherworking machinery enough to make a career of it, and that lead to our current family business manufacturing and servicing machinery. I grew up rebuilding classic lockstitch sewing machines and repairing and adjusting band knife splitters and have a good knowledge of how the equipment is used, but want to improve my bench skills and continue learning about the trade and industry.
My dad taught me to invest in tools and skills, and I've always felt that history is a library of knowledge to draw on for the future. I enjoy learning about all kinds of manufacturing and industry, but in particular love to see old and new technologies working together.
I'm a family man, an Eagle Scout, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and while I've spent most of my life happily living in Texas, I still consider myself a Southwesterner at heart.
