  1. This one was for my friends band, it was a little sloppy but hey its part of the learning curve. The anchor was a stamp I made from a USN pin. this was for a friend who had to get her knee operated on. First time I put a liner on anything. It went easy enough, except the Tandy concho which was kind of a POS PITA, but hey its all good. Fun to do and I learn with every project. So...comments...concerns...tips?
  2. I like it! I haven't tried a belt yet but I hoping to give it a try soon.
  3. That's wild man. The lettering looks really good too.
  4. For my new Ruger 22/45. This was my third attempt at a holster. The first was a pancake-type that I didn't even bother to sew. The 2nd was a simple version similar to this. I made some minor changes on the 3rd attempt like cutting the top edge down to stop before the rear sights. I am going to make a 3rd version of this holster soon to hopefully work the rest of the "bugs"(I'd like to make a more graceful sweeping curve between the trigger guard and the barrel and also improve my belt loop on the back by sewing in a piece on all 4 sides and cutting slots) out. The black hides a multitude of sins but I think the next version will be tan or natural oiled. The belt is not one of mine I'm just using it to show the angle. I still need to get a good sanding bit for my rotary tool, also I need to make a burnishing wheel.
  5. This was my first project. They are a set of belt keepers for a Sam Browne belt. I decided on this 'cuz 1) I needed some and 2) seemed to require the use of a lot of basic skills with the exception of sewing. Mine are on the right with the brass snaps. The one on the left is a production piece that I think was made by Gould & Goodrich that I used to help design my template. Things I learned so far: life would be easier with a strap end punch as I am a perfectionist to a flaw. I think a creaser would have made them look nicer and made the stamping easier I need a proper mallet. so anyway I have some questions: Any special order to the dye and edging process? Should I stamp first then dye? What is the best way to have the dye penetrate into the leather? Of course, any other suggestions are welcomed as I am totally new at this.
