Hybrid Holster For Glock
303brit replied to 303brit's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Yes Crossbreed sells the clips, they are 7.50 a set including hardware. I have used Tandy #1240-24 clips also, they are large enough to use with double thick gunbelts. I find the crossbreed to be the best clips I have used for IWB -
Here is a hybrid holster I made for my Glock 19; I used 8oz for the backing lined with elk hide and a horsehide stiffener on the slide guard. I combined parts from several designs like Tuckers Answer and CompTac Minotaur. I used Crossbreed clips.

My Take On A Tucker Holster

Nice work, that is my current favorite style for OWB carry also. -
Holster Accessories / Hardware?
303brit replied to Sixer's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
The #1240-24 clips from Tandy will work with double thick belts. They do not have the bump at the bottom and have a larger loop at the top. I am using them on the holster I am wearing today. -
Holsters 3,4,5, & 6 (Pic Heavy)
303brit replied to Sixer's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Sixer, I am fairly new at holster making myself, and a couple of things I have found that are easy and work well for edges are to round them with a Dremel sanding drum then use old denim (just cut from jeans) to smooth it. I use Sno-seal wax instead of the gum then finish with a sharpie for a final polish. -
Great work, I think they look very nice. +1 on the belt , a double thick belt makes all the diffrence in carry. they can be a PITA to hand stitch though.

Just finished a convertible OWB / IWB pancake for my Rossie 851.

I tried out several new things on this holster, snap on straps, basket weave on the reinforcement, and three different finishes (dark brown on the front, Black on the reinforcement, natural on the back. I am not satisfied with the straps yet, they work fine, and I just think they could look a little better. They attach with screws so I will probably change them.

I just finished a new belt holster. I based it on one brinyar posted here. (Hope you don't mind man, yours is a work of art!) I used about 8oz veg tan from a local shop. It is finished with two coats of Fiebings dark brown dye and then a coat of Resolene. I still have to do a final polish on it, but I am happy with how it turned out. (Even if it is not as nice as the original.) Any suggestions on ways to do it better are appreciated. This is only the second pancake I have tried, the first didn't come out nearly as nice. I miss judged the stitching and had to redo around the trigger guard.

Prototype, variation on the Avenger style
303brit replied to Lobo's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Very nice design Lobo, I was searching for a new holster to make and had to give that one a try. I usually make hybrid IWB holsters but had the itch to get back into the full leather. I checked out your web page, you do some very nice work. Good to see a Colorado neighbor doing well. -
Here's a few new ones I just finished

Very nice. I like the front loop attachment. I hope to get up to that quality one of these days. -
This is a belt and holster I made for my Ruger-P95. This is my fourth or fifth attempt at holster making and my second belt; I'm finally getting happy with the quality. The belt is double 7-8 oz and the holster is also 7 oz. Finished with Fiebings black dye. Both are hand stitched.
