Can any of you leather pros give me an idea of what might be used to create the frame and ridged ness of this suite case - http://www.saddlebackleather.com/Classic-Suitcase?sc=8&category=1289 How is somewhat " light"? What is sandwiched between the pigskin and leather? Where can I buy supplies to recreate etc? Any helps is appreciated Thanks Matt

I have a Cowboy Model 5 from Neel's Sadderly that is 2.5 years old. The machine has been barley used - I made an woodworkers apron and a log carrier for the fire place as its 2 big projects. I also made a couple of small sheath's. I talked to Ryan Neel and he advised me that a fair asking price would be $850.00 OBO plus shipping. I live in Maryland so if pickup is possible it would save a few bucks. I am probably going to put this on eBay also so might pull this listing.... If interested please shoot me an email or give me a call and I can tell you more. Thanks Matt 443-336-0275 matthewdclarke@yahoo.com

I am hoping that I can get some advice on sewing. I am a newbie to leather and sewing for that matter and am having problems with the feed dogs/walking foot leaving marks on the back of the leather. I have tried to reduce tension and even physically filed down the feed dogs but am still having problems. I have attached 3 pics that can hopefully give reference of the problem. I am having the biggest issue with Horweens Chromexel. I love the leather, but the track marks ruin the project. Any sage wisdom is appreciated. Thanks Matt

I have bought several hides because i liked them but i am not sure when i will begin using them - Is there anything special to storing them for a while - I am quite new to this, I work in my basement, have a dehumidifier running and they are rolled on a shelf - anything special that I need to do - or will they sit there indefinably and be good to go when I want to begin work? Thanks Matt

I have been searching for a 5-6 ounce fully struck leather - chestnut / burgundy / a dark brown with reddish tint - I thought that this would be pretty easy, but is turning out not to be at all. I can find the colors fully struck but they are 9-10 oz or more - or the opposite, right colors, but 3 oz. Want it to be chrome tanned 5-6 oz dyed all the way through, not oily maybe lightly waxy- ANY suggestions???? – I think that I have talked to all of the main places – water house – hide and leather house – Tandy etc – still no luck Thanks Matt
