Here is what I do, I take straight resoline, and use a sponge brush from a hardware store, apply to the leather until you see the resoline looking blue, let it dry. It gives a nice shine without being too much. Also I have noticed when I use the sponge applicator, I don't get streaks and as long as I take care of the bubbles it looks great. BUT after that first coat let it dry ALL THE WAY or you will end up in a gummy mess.
