  1. That was the one thing I didn't like about the mag pouch. Will give the stitching more of a v pattern next time. Thanks for the comment C.J. Thanks for the comments. Will have to try that with the next one. Still learnin. Thanks C.J. Thanks for the comments. That was my second mag pouch but first of that style. Pretty happy with it but for the stitching at the bottom of the mag. Thanks C.J.
  2. Wasn't sure i would like or be able to use a airbrush. So i got the cheap set from the local Harbour Freight. For what i will use it for it is just fine in my opinion. I may upgrade the airbrush eventualy. But as long as you keep it clean and get put back together correctly it works pretty good. Pics are of my first try on a holster. Still learnin with it. The leather was a bad section from a Tandy double shoulder, since it was a practice project i used it. First time with airbrush and patterns. I applied the mahogany oil dye with a dauber and airbrushed the black oil dye and 50/50 reselone final finish. The mahogany is really streaky in the pics but not as noticable in person. And some spots showed up when i wet the leather to mold. Never went away. The airbrush really leaves a nice final finish. Much more professional result then i have got with other methods.
  3. Those are awesome. Very cool with the cross hatching and border. I like the double keeper on the black on too. Can I ask where you get your buckles. Been lookin for that style but I can't find good ones. Agian awesome job C.J.
  4. Thanks for the comments. I had to bevel the underside of the keeper to get it to fit but I liked the look of the wider one. Thanks agian C.J.

  6. Thanks for the comments. Glad to hear others don't sew straight through. Though I can't imagine how you could. The sewing wasn't that bad but as sturdy as this one is not sure I will need to make another one soon. Thanks agian C.J.
  7. Thanks for the kind words, The buckle is a Al Stohlman brand I got from the local Tandy store. Thanks for the kind words.
  8. This is my first belt. Hand sewen. Took about 6 hours to stitch it. I split the stitching into four sections so i didn't have to deal with 30 ft of thread. I intended to leave the inside natural, but i splashed some spots of dye onto the back and it become fully dyed. Pretty happy with it except for the stitching on the back gets a little wavy in a couple of section, not bad but in white really noticable. But its on the inside so its not a huge deal. Just made for me not sellin it or anything. Its about 5/16 inch thick, just slightly thicker then a The Beltman belt i have. Thanks for checkin it out. C.J.
  9. Thanks for the comments. I know not to add the length at the end of the barrell but i guess i get so used to my patterns being to small i just added the length by mistake. I will have to try an avenger style. I really like the j frame. Its like not carry a gun at all. I dont have a post for the pocket holster. Google Matt Del Fatti and check out his sight. Its probably my most used holster, need to make a nicer lookin one though. After you see Matt's you will know what i mean. Thanks agian for checkin em out and your comments C.J.
  10. Thanks for the comments. The pocket holster is one of my favorites. The dye looks much less streaky in person. But it is a little off. Not sure why. It's a Matt DelFatti design I copied( just for myself). I beleive he doesn't even take orders anymore. The pancake was just for fun. But I really like it with the j frame. If it was the right length I think I would use it more. Agian thanks for your comments C.J.
  11. A pocket Holster. Really happy with this one except for the trigger side stitch line is way off. This was my first J frame holster. And a Pancake. Like this one but I dyed before molding and I just cant seem to make this work out. Can't get the fine line and look i get when dying after molding. Its retention os good though. Its also almost 1/2 inch to long at the barrel, but it was the first try on this pattern. Thanks for checkin em out
  12. Hey Been on here for a while soakin up everyones knowledge. Just wanted to say thanks. Last Oct. I decided to try makin a holster. Couldnt find what i wanted and didnt wanna waite 10 months. Ive had holsters from Milt Sparks and Mitch Rosen(not the express stuff) so i know what good stuff looks like and figured i would try. Went to Tandy and got some tools and leather and my first atempt is really ugly. But as i kept trying and discovered this forum things started to improve thanks to everyone being so forthcoming with your tricks and great skill. Also a special thanks to Particle and Lobo. Particle's videos really inspired me to give this a try. His and Lobo's sharing on this forum have helped in particular. The first photo is my first attempt and its not pretty. This was before finding this sight and Particle's videos. The other picture is my forth attempt after finding this sight. Not perfect but big improvement. Ive made a bunch of stuff since then, and i see impromement with each new project. Finished my first belt yesterday. Hand sewin, lotta work. Looks really good though. Will post more pics of my stuff soon. Not up to the level of many of you on here but its been really rewarding trying to get it right. Agian thanks to all. C.J.
