  1. Thanks Mike. Actually since we are in NY I can't take possession of a customers gun. I just chalk it up to one more blue gun. It's funny that overall it is a very streamline holster design, but that particular gun makes it look like a molded brick, lol.
  2. This is a new Cross-draw / Appendix holster I did for a customer in left hand. The S&W 9VE is quite a blocky gun. I had to buy a SW9V blue gun and mod the frame for the VE version. Hope you like it.
  3. Of course you can. I think you will like it. Yes, without the cut out, you could pull until the end of eternity and the gun won't come out, once mounted on the belt. If I didn't mold them so tight, it probably wouldn't be needed, but I like the way the it looks.
  4. Glad you like it. I think it gives my holsters a really clean look.
  5. Thanks, I think it gives the holster a nice clean look.
  6. I had someone ask me how I do my belt slots, as it isn't necessarily obvious from my pics. I thought I would post it up here for anyone interested. I really like forming the tunnels on my holsters, as I think it creates a very finished look and adds stability to the holster. The belt tunnels are actually easy. I just put the belt slot cuts in the back piece of leather about 3/4 inch back. When I glue the front and back together, I am very careful not to get any glue in the belt tunnel area. Then I sew up to the edges of the tunnel and fit a belt into the holster about mid way through forming it. Sometimes I have to wet the tunnel area more than the rest of the holster when forming. This really makes for a tight, yet smooth fit to the belt. Here are front and back pictures.
  7. Thanks guys. I am looking forward to becoming a regular here.
  8. Thanks, I really appreciate it.
  9. Thanks, the holster is Horsehide. I use a thinned Cordovan dye and it gives a really nice antique leather furniture look with the grain of the Horsehide.
  10. Thanks, That would be nice to see someday!

  11. Hi everyone, I am new to the forum and just thought I would say hello and show a couple of pics of my new Pancake holster. It's based on one of my favorite designs that Null and Alessi offered versions of. I added a reinforced mouth and sweatguard, which was tricky when it came to sewing. Hope you like it. I am looking forward to spending time on the forum and learning and sharing with everyone. Jim
  12. Thanks Ken. I am really amazed at the all the great information here. It's nice to see what other people are doing. Having taught myself, it's nice to see other techniques and work.
  13. Hi everyone. My name is Jim Ryan and I mostly work on Horsehide holsters. I am located about half way between Rochester and Buffalo. I have played around with Holsters for years while working at my regular jobs in the firearms industry. I finally decided I needed less stress in my life, so I started working on my holsters on a regular basis. This is a great site, and I have to admit that I only just discovered it. I really hope I have the opportunity to share and learn more from everyone here. I started posting pics to my album and will work on getting more up as time goes by.
