Pink Holster
jlaudio29 replied to Haystacker's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Jeanette, how are you applying the dye to the leather? I use an airbrush, and id start with a half full body of reducer, and add the ox blood to it until i get the right color. -

A Couple Of Holsters
jlaudio29 replied to hestes's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Id like to see a picture of the avenger with the gun in the holster, so i can give you some feedback on something that may help you get your pattern a little tighter. you can always shoot me an email as its easier for me to check and reply to and input pictures. Saddle stitch is the way to go for hand stitching. And i agree with the other poster about adjusting your pattern on the pancake, also rounding your corner a little more, make them flow. There is a time nad place for sharp edges, i love putting sharp edges on my holsters but its only warrented in certain areas, you can see some examples on some of my work. -

Thanks for the compliments guys. Olds cool - yah that first one came out nice, took me a while to design it, had to play around with it a lot, the customer wanted something aggressive and a bit on the dark side (not refering to color) needless to say i nailed it and he loves it. pricey holster though $180 c2369zulu - Practice makes perfect, my holster take me between 4-6 hours to make, sometimes a little more depending on the design, i still hand stitch most of my holsters even though i have a Toro 3000. As ive always said, if anyone would like to know any thing about how i constructed my holsters or any detail work, im more then willing to share my knowledge, all you have to do is ask. very late reply i know... just finished logging 68 hours this week. -
Cant figure out what is going on, machine was running fine, now every other stitch or almost every other stitch you can see the top thread on the bottom. Hope that makes sense. I dont think it can be a tension issue, but i dont know for sure. the springy eyelet thing seems to make a loud click sound, not sure if its normal or if its part of the problem, once something goes wrong every little noise seems out of the ordinary and its hard to remember if it made that sound before haha.

Beltslide For M&p Shield
jlaudio29 replied to chiefjason's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Not bad sir, keep working at it. My only thing with this is... that short of a gun it is unecessary to make a belt slide style for it.. your 90 percet to a pancake.. might as well just cover the rest of the gun up.
