  1. Thanks for the reply. I am making plier sheaths, knife sheaths etc. Fishing gear stuff. I will try your recommendation
  2. I am making leather items that will be subjected to salt water. Should I seal the flesh side? And if so with what? I have been using Latigo, would some of the oily leathers be better? I left a sheath out in the rain and the next day it seemed to have a black mold on it. Not sure and it would not brush off. Tab

      Fish leather, I'd imagine. Some Northwest Indians used it a lot, from shark and gar especially.

      Thanks! What about latigo or oil tanned. This is for plier sheaths etc.

      Oiltanned might work, for a time.

      Not sure about this as I don't live very close to salt water.
