Do you think a Facebook page helps with your sales?

Doesn't really work for me at all. My primary issue is that most of the people who like my page are other leatherworkers. It's not very profitable to try selling milk to a dairy farmer. I think Renee just has better luck because she's a social person and knows lots of people outside of the computer.

Pictorial edge finishing guide for those who are struggling. I just whipped it up real quick for the purpose of this topic, but I may do something more thorough in the future. It's basically my take on Bob Park's instructions. Hopefully pictures will help those who have been having issues. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=48696&st=90&gopid=309196entry309196

Think I need to break down and buy a maul or mallet. I currently use a double head( 1 poly, 1 rubber) 12oz mallet with 4 3/8"X 2" long bolts taped to the head. Tape keeps breaking and the bolts fly everywhere!

What's better? Getting your work done quick and easy, or taking your time to make sure you're putting out the highest quality items possible? Remember, if shortcuts were good methods, they would be THE method.

Agreed Kate. I'm all for finding ways to streamline things, as long as it results in top quality and maintains professional standards. There are so many shortcuts going around that only result in lower quality in the long run. Take edging for example. I see a lot of people out there who see it as optional. A poorly executed edge can turn a $300 piece into a $50 piece, so why wouldn't the extra time and effort be warranted?
