Im happy that my projects have worked out especially since I've only been working with leather for about 2 weeks.

Can anybody tell me where I can get horse hide / leather from. Ive seen some holsters made in it, bur have no idea where to find some.

For my second holster I did an OWB. 1. I put more detail, with less mistakes when wet molding 2. I molded a space in the leather for the front. 3. I used leather dye reducer to thin out the Eco Flo Mahogany dye to get the color i was looking for.

I ended up using a wool dauber. And I found the right mixture with the right amount of reducer to get the results i was looking for.

I made this IWB holster for my 1911, out of 9-10oz Veg Tan leather, with a Feibings cordovan die, and Crossbreed IWB clips. The finish is alot darker then i thought it was going to be, so I put some die reducer, and a lighter brown die on order. The next holster will have a much smoother surface.

Im looking to make a pattern for a belt holster. Ill be using 9oz tooling leather. The back piece of leather is easy enough to design, But Im not sure of the front. Does anybody have an idea of how to measure the front piece of leather ?
