Okay, well this is going off on a tangent. Please keep all other discussions private or find a new place for them. I am just trying to move my stuff for a fair price. On the Canadian shipping; the $18 charge was after the seller proposed to pay for half so actually shipping anything larger than a thimble to Canada with tracking was $36 minimum. So I ask (rhetorically), would you eat a $36+ shipping fee on a $120 sale?
-
I should have mentioned paypal for everyone in the original post but I don't see the option to edit it again. Also, Joe, check your private messages for tracking soon, thanks again! Even at 1/2 the price it is still very high. I did a price check with the post office and I believe the cheapest trackable option was $34-36. I just can't justify the $18 + 3% paypal charge for the price of the goods. Sorry it didn't work out ---- Anyways... I still have a lot of nice tools available so lets get these moving!

Thanks for the explanation 25b, like he said, just too much to justify shipping to Canada.
-
The 0.8mm and 1mm thread and the 2/0 needles are still available, thanks

Sorry, I can't ship to Canada, too expensive.

Buying it isn't an option as I work with only chromexcel at the moment. I will take a look through the Gotz catalogue again, thanks -
Leather Perforation, Not Many Answers Out There
tparrish replied to tparrish's topic in How Do I Do That?
Hi Everyone, Thanks for the great replies. I have been thinking of a template, or like Dwight mentioned, make my own punch or die. I will have to check with Weaver as well. Laser cutting was a thought of mine off the bat but I am not sure if the edges my show discoloration, burning on lighter colors. I am located in St. Pet For durability I was thinking of doing this with lighter weights and using a second layer underneath. I don't believe the cross perfing penetrates the material fully either. Also forgot to mention that none of my perforated edges will ever by left unfinished. They will always meet another piece to for a seem. There may even be welting in between. I am designing somethings right now and it is difficult to get into the detailing of the design if I am not sure if a desired look is easily (relatively) obtained. -
Hi Everyone, I am looking for a solution for perforating leather. I have searched and scoured the web and have only come across the Tandy option as well as the CS Osborne ventilator punch. I understand that large production rum perforating is most likely done by a large roller or other large machine but there has to be a solution for us little guys. So my question, does anyone have an idea or tool I can search for? I am looking to to smaller areas up to 10" x 10" in round perforations and cross perforations. Machine is available and price is OBO. An FYI, it was an additional $400 to ship to me from the manufacturer, Canada to MN. My guess is it would be more the further away you are from the border.

I have one with 5 hours of use for sale. Send me a message if you are interestes.

That is my Techsew for sale. It has about 5 hours of use and lifetime warranty. Also just a heads up, shipping for my machine was $400 so keep that in mind. Good luck with the search!
