  4. Good point, and thanks for your input. I have all of the cowhide lace as well as a side of Horween baseball glove leather but would really like to track down a good source of kip. Some fun colors would be nice but I am not picky right now. I will have to look over the suppliers mentioned above again.
  5. anyone else?
  6. Thanks everyone, I think I have checked out all those mentioned. Here are some pics of "kip" leather used for baseball gloves. This is what I am looking for and I would guess it can't be any lighter than 4-5 oz
  7. Thanks for replying to my post, once I figure out how to pm i will shoot you my address. I don't think the threads are as heavy as they look but we will see.
  8. I order my baseball glove leather from them and am extremely happy. Great guys to deal with and I order tiny quantities.
  9. I have searched endlessly for a supplier that carries kip leather in various colors in 4 - 6 oz weights. If anyone has any ideas please let me know!
  10. I picked up a nice &8-3 a while back but I need a little help with thread and needle size. I will be sewing 5 - 6 oz horween glove leather and was wondering if anyone could recommend a proper needle and thread size. I am looking for a thread that is the same in weight to that used to sew together high end baseball gloves. Thanks in advance. Some examples:
  11. Thank you for the links. I have seen that sight but not the video. Pretty insightful! A lot of work goes into those little gloves!
  12. Haha Thanks for the reply. I get the fact that these are sewn inside out and know how to do the binding edge but I was wondering about what machine and techniques to use. I would love to see on of these babies sewn together!
  13. Hi Everyone, I have been trying to come up with a plan of attack for sewing gloves similar to the ones posted. My question is how do they work the material on the rolled edges around the knuckles? The material is quite thin and there isn't much excess ( perhaps they trimmed it), and theose little circles are quite tight. Does anyone have any experience or suggestions on how to sew delicate leather like this in tight areas? Look at the fourchette area too (space between fingers). Thanks in advance!
  14. Thanks, I have actually been in contact with quite a few of these sellers.
  15. Great! Thats exactly what I needed to know and very promising for me. Thanks for the good ideas everyone.
  16. Is it possible to compress a some what soft leather (flatten) with a weight, or by other means? I have a source for just about the perfect leather for a project but I would really like it a little thinner while being more dense/stiff. Please let me know if you have any ideas. Thanks
  17. Thanks, I have their number and really should give them a call. Anyone else?
  18. Anyone?
  19. Hi Everyone, I have been searching, and searching, and searching some more, for some nice glove leather to use for repairing baseball gloves and making replacement pockets. I was in contact with Horween (often used by Rawlings), got samples that were perfect but now can't get them to talk to me about an order. So, I was wondering if anyone had any resources for high quality leather for this specific use. I have the contact info for the tannery that Rawlings uses but was told by outsiders they wont sell to small independents. I appreciate any help. Thank you, Tony
