    The metallic is actually pewter, a gold and silver mix, and it is lamb. I usually use kidskin in all of my inlays, but I got a great deal on the lamb and it looks sweet

    I was actually surprised at how well the alligator burnished along with the veg tanned Hermann Oak.

    Fully Tooled Bi-fold. I used Wickett and Craig this time on top and cannot say that I liked it all that much, It seems as though I had to strop my swivel knife every minute unlike Herman Oak. All in all though there they are.

    Thanks to everyone for the great compliments, I just wish I could get some more critiquing. This thing is far from perfect, I'm still a newb (tooling for a year and a half).

    I still use my trusty Tandy groover (the only Tandy tool I still use) I buy strips from Springfield. They know that I only accept top notch strips and that is what I receive, Plus they are cut from Herman Oak. I'd much rather pay someone to cut it for me and know that each strap I get is usable and real tight grained. I do cut my own liners though

    I use painters tape on the back of my belts, it keeps them from distorting Off the top of my head, I think I'm using a 21 needle and yes I am using the standard shuttle hook. You just have to play with the tension for a while, but if you can get it set properly you can sew about any thickness with minimal adjustment. I have sewn with 69 thread on my cobra and have had no problems or skipped stitches.

    I use a Cobra Class 4 on almost everything now.

    1. Cobra Class 4, 138, and 11spi. 2. Yes I like to groove before stitching, it gives a nice guidline and alloows the stitches to be lees prone to wear.

    Thanks for the praise, And i did notice the exact same thing with my backgronding, I did not actually cut a line for a guide on my bargrounding. I'll probably do so next time to see if I get a better result. It is time consuming I spent 10-12 hour on it.

    The liner was contact cemented after the top was tooled and dyed and after trimming the liner, I finger carved the liner, then stitched.

    I haven't been on in a while, and i decided that I should post up a new belt for everyone to critique. This belt consists of two layers of 6-7 oz. Herman Oak, tooled on the top and finger carved on the inside. I used #138 thread at around 11 spi.
