  1. Well, I picked up the Adler. I like the idea of it being made in Germany as well as the fact that the guy I bought it from restores machines and will help me out if anything is needed. I also picked up a Singer 29k for $50. The singer is completely restored but needs one part that I've sourced out for $32. Seemed to be too god of a deal to pass up! Now to order a servo motor.
  2. Thanks all! The bag was made inside out, stitched all the way around then flipped. The flap is stitched on as well as riveted as per the original bags that I used for inspiration. The "mustang" oiled from Tandy is great, but it is of limited stock. Too bad since its some of the nicest stuff they have. Luckily, I've found a place close by where I should be able to get something comparable.
  3. Hi all I'm looking to get a machine that will let me sew wallets, tablet and phone cases (3/4 doubled) as well as industrial felt and canvas. I may go a bit thicker for belts but I don't see that being an issue right now. I've found both the Adler 267 and the Reliable GC0618-1 relatively close to me and both for the same price. Is there a preference for one over the other? Thanks, Kevin
  4. I did this bag up a few months ago and I forgot to post it here. It's my version of a USPS bag. It's 4/5 oz oiled from Tandy, hand stitched with copper rivets. It's my daily carry bag. Thanks for looking! Kevin
  5. Hi all! Just wanted to share my latest satchel. It's 9x12x2 held together with copper rivets. It started off as a reject from Tandy, it looked like someone had spilled some tanning solution on it and had tried to wipe it up. There were swirl marks on it and lots of character. I used the new Dark Brown Waterstain and finished with the new Conditioning Cream. I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Thanks for looking! Kevin
  6. Hi all! Haven't been in here in a while but was rebidden by the leather working bug. A friend of mine wanted a murse to carry all of his stuff around and this is what came out if it. 4/5 oiled hide from tandy with suede lining. It's 9x12x4 all hand stitched.
  7. Hi all! My name is Kevin and I've recently been bitten by the leatherworking bug. I've just started making knives and leather sheaths, and have a few other leather projects in mind. I stumbled across this forum and am blown away by the amazing talent here! I can only hope that I'll be able to produce something worthy of posting some day! Kevin
