  1. Thanks Old Timer for the personal welcome! I can see that I will learn a lot from you. See you in the forums!

  2. Let me know if that is the wrong reason to add someone as a friend here. I am not totally sure how this site works yet, so maybe I am committing a social faux pas! If that is the case you could be my friend right from the start and tell me I am doing it wrong...lol

  3. Hello! I am very impressed with your attention to detail and see that you are exceptionally skilled.

I am new here and will add as a friend someone I am interested in knowing what they have to say.

I want to get to know serious leather workers, and people here that have a lot of knowledge in specific areas that are of real interest to me.

    So of course yes I...

  6. Thanks Old Timer. I will be looking into your posts and contributions about leather work. It looks like you are very skilled and experienced. I am very new to working with wet formed cow hide. I have always worked with deer and elk and now work almost exclusively with very soft brain tanned and smoked hides. I understand that for durable men's hunting accoutrements the wet formed cow hide is vital so I have many new skills to learn. See you in the forums!
  7. Aahhh a fellow Michigander-hello!
  8. Welcome! I am new here too. I also have/had an Etsy shop (LaECLECTICa) where I sold vintage and and antique jewelry as well as my artwork and bead/leather work. I am now working on my own website that will focus solely on my art and leather work. The best of luck to you.
  9. Hi, it was nice to read your introduction of yourself. I am new here and also have chronic pain issues. Leather work and beading is my best therapy!
  10. Welcome, and I agree that your work is beautiful!
  11. Thank you Kevin! I am also interested in learning about carving and stamping. I am getting ready to try my first wet formed bag for the possibles bag I mentioned. I will be really looking around here for more information today and tomorrow so that I feel as confident as possible that I know how to approach the project for the best results. Noelle
  12. Hello, I am very happy to have found Leatherworker.net. I attached some photos of very small leather bags I recently created. I will soon be photographing many more of my leather work and will share them too. I have traditionally worked on Native American feminine attire and accessories. However I am researching and broadening my work to include items traditionally used my men. I am working on a possibles bag right now for my mountain man and am also interested in knife sheaths. I life life as simply and naturally as possible. I love history and the old school ways of getting things done. I look forward to meeting many of you and seeing what you are up to with your leather.
