The inserts on my Dad's Fatboy seat were tearing, so I took them out and made a seat to match the flame theme on his bike.

'alone In The Woods' Rifle Sling
AMMO replied to AMMO's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Yeah, I've gotten to the point where I only stab myself about once per project. The worst part is just how tedious all that stitching gets. But, it's functional and adds to the look, so you gotta do it. -
'alone In The Woods' Rifle Sling
AMMO replied to AMMO's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Thanks, and everything I do is handstitched simply because I can't afford a good leather sewing machine. Oh, and sorry the pics came out so damn big. I thought for sure I shrunk them, but apparently it didn't take. -
Well, I dyed all the black parts black first, then I covered the whole thing with Fiebings Tan Antiquing Paste using a piece of sheep wool to apply. After letting it sit for a half hour or so I use a paper towel to wipe the antique paste away from the areas I don't want it. Of course, that never works to perfection so I just go back and dab a little antique paste here and there in the spots I want it, then when that dries a little I use a clean piece of sheep wool to better smooth the antiquing. After that you have to carefully apply your finish making sure not to smear the antiquing from any areas you don't want to. Then let it dry and stitch her together. After assembled I put another coat of super sheen and then a coat of that aussie finish on it as well. I hope that wasn't too much detail. Oh, I forgot to say I used super sheen as a resistor before I applied the antiquing.

Just finished up this Jack Daniels themed "Snuff Pouch", as I call them, for the Christmas order.

Thanks guys. I appreciate the kind words.

A good friend of mine laid his bike down two months ago and is no longer with us, leaving behind his fiancee and their unborn baby. This weekend is a bonanza to raise money for her and their son, and I made this seat to donate to the cause. The image in the center is based off of a picture of him that she took from her car. Any critiques are welcome. Enjoy.

Yeah, I run rigid struts on my FXR with a sprung solo, so I know what you're talking about.

Thanks guys, and yeah, I tend to agree about the springs when you've already got suspension, but that's what he wanted. He said it rode smoother afterwards though, so maybe there is something to it. I mean, it's not a rubber mount, so maybe it deadened a little vibration from the motor.

We just got it mounted last night. It was starting to get dark so I apologize for the grainy shots with my camera phone.

Open Top Pancake Holster
AMMO replied to AMMO's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I use an overstitch wheel to mark where the stitches will go and then I just handstitch it with an awl. I don't use a punch at all. -
Slapped together this here pancake holster for one of my riding buddies. You should be able to guess his road name. All compliments and criticisms welcome.

Took a couple hours one night and slapped this tank panel together. I figured it was better than the old black plastic one that was slowly deteriorating.

I like to call these little toolbags 'Snuff Pouches' because a log of Skoal would fit perfectly in them. At any rate, I made this bad boy for a mechanic at the local H-D dealer. Apparently he prefers Copenhagen.

My brother-in-law's last name is Sword, thus the sword. He's a plumber by profession and an avid hunter. The rest of the design is just me filling the negative space the same way I used to on my paper bag book covers in high school, except I don't have any dirty words hidden anywhere on there.

I'll throw up a couple pics of it on the bike once I get his hardware all mounted.

Seat I made for my bro-in-law's "new" shovel.

So I just made a knife sheath and my knife has been cutting the stitches when I pull it out of the sheath. What's the best way to keep this from happening? Will using cement while stitching fix the problem? Thanks.

Hey all. Been making leather stuff for about a year now. Started just because I wanted to make myself a solo seat for my bike. A couple of my riding buddies saw some of my stuff and I have been swamped with work ever since. Here's my latest seat. I made everything from the pan up. Hope you like it.
