Oh Tina thank you so much for answering! I was about to order some resist but I HAVE two bottles of super sheen! Apparently what I need is the hi-liter! Yay, thanks leatherworking forum this is awesome. I just made a few white tigers and a unicorn and now I can keep them white but bring out their details!

Wow thanks guys! I've never heard of a "resist" - I'm so grateful! So, you can use this and then still apply a stain and it won't color the white but it will tint the cuts? that's awesome! how is the hi-liter different from the eco-flo stains I have?

any ideas? suggestions? I love painting with white, but whenever I go to stain it, the white is gone - it's brown or grey or what have you, no matter if I use tan stain or what. is there any way to bring out the carvings with a stain without coloring the white paint? my hunch is no, but maybe someone knows a trick...

Thanks Putnam Leather but I can't be experimental as far as the bleeding is concerned since I can't sell a purse that's going to bleed dye. Can anyone answer? Pretty please? help?

also, if dip-dying deerskin is not feasible, I presume that she's wearing lambskin in that picture? so, is that do-able, and can y'all advise on that? thanks so much... again, my main concern is for it not to bleed at all.

Hi there. Inspired by this jacket that's in the attached pic, I want to dip dye deerskin with that sort of effect. It's for a zodiac purse I'm making, so I want the leather to conjure the night sky. I have some light pinkish deerskin that I want to dip dye and most of what I read on here regarding dip dying it seems that you're dying veg-tan and thick leathers for belts and holsters and whatnot. And then a lot of you have issues with it bleeding, despite buffing it. Obviously I can't buff deerskin after I dye it, so - can i not do this? Will it bleed for sure? Of course I can't sell a purse that's going to stain anyone's anything... but I LOVE that effect. Can anyone advise me? Thanks so much! Kali
