  1. I looked on your website Bob. No pictures or prices of them. Could you post here or Email me pics and prices of the styles you stock?
  2. have a new Cowboy 3200. Love it. why is it so hard to find walking feet for 441 clones? is there a singer style equivalent, other equivalents?
  3. above are 1) the short style walking foot which goes on my Mercury 406 2) a consew 206 style foot 3) a pfaff walking foot What the heck is the style of the foot on my machine? I can't find them. I keep ordering feet which do not fit!
  4. ahh, a picture is worth a thousand words! Thats what I have been doing. good to be sure.
  5. Ok, so does that mean that the thread makes sort of an acute angle at the slot as it goes back toward the exit hole keeper thing?
  6. Hello everybody, today I would like to ask a simple question. I can never remember which way to install the bobbin. Is there an easy way to remember which way it is supposed to unwind?
  7. Why does everyone use chains for these things? wouldn't stainless cable with loops crimped on the end work nicer? stuff can be had at any hardware store
  8. When I machine sew tight inside curves, like around the trigger on a moulded holster, the length of the foot interferes with staying tight to the edge. As a result I end up manually placing several stitches, eyeballing the stitch length, and handcranking. Is that the best strategy? any better ideas for tight inside curves with a machine?
  9. I have a mercury 406 walking foot machine. It is a well built machine like the consew 206. I bought some additional feet for it ( consew 206 style) but they don't fit. The flat bar with hole on mine is shorter than on the feet i bought. Does anyone know what type of feet i need?
  10. Hello sewing machine experts! I have a question. Are roller feet available for my 206 style machine or my consew 223. I am talking about the nickle size knurled wheels which press to the left of the needle. I am interested in trying them for purposes of increased visibility/precision while making shoes and boots.
  11. I have a Landis 12F and a Landis 37. I have considered getting a straight stitch just to complete a nice set but. I am having trouble deciding what the machine does that a good solid cylinder arm can't. The other two clearly offer special capabilities for soling shoes and boots. Any thoughts?
  12. please give me a ring or email me. i will pm you
  13. I am interested in most of it. call me on my cell 406-544-1566
  14. Hi guys, I got a hold of an old arbor press. The top die has a little point in the middle like a typical snap or rivet setter. The bottom die is a hollow tube which has about 3/4 of an inch of spring loaded travel. How do i use this thing? Why does the bottom move on a spring?
  15. well, FYI i got it to sew pretty with a 207 nylon and a 180 leather point needle through about 3/8 chrome tanned medium temper bison. tension is so tight that its hard to draw extra needle thread out by hand (is that normal?). belt slippage is now limiting. Any tricks on reducing belt slippage?
  16. Thanks very much you guys. Bob, based on that diagram, I do have it threaded correctly. I missed the little hook before the slack spring initially, but I did find it. I will try setting it up with 138 thread and the appropriate 137-16 needle. Once i get that running I will see if I can step up to 207. I did think this machine was a little heavier duty when I bought it on ebay. Looks like i am going to go thru all the steps like everyone else :-(
  17. Hello sewing machine guru's, I just set up a Consew 223r. I have a few questions. 1) is there an adaptor for the unusual presser foot mount which will allow this machine to take the more common style of industrial presser feet? 2) in my first couple of test runs i got tangled up pretty quickly with large loops on the underside. Obviously this suggests that I need more needle thread tension. Do i just keep tightening the tensioner until the loops go away? is there any other cause of this problem which I should check? 3) what is the biggest needle thread combo for heavy leather stiching which this machine can handle. Everything seems to suggest a 120 with 207 thread? is this right, should I even bother trying 180 with 277?
  18. Installed the Sew-line sls1000 servo motor (appears to be identical to the Consew cs 1000)on my used mercury 406 flatbed machine. Using 135-16 in a 120 needle and 69 nylon for boot parts, it works surprisingly well. I was easily able to sew 3/8 of medium temper leather at very slow speeds, basically stitch by stitch. Low end fairly easy to control and seems to have good torque. for 125 bucks off e-bay, shipped, i am happy.
  19. i will let you know customdoug, motor got here today
  20. I recently aquired a Mercury M-406. I think I have figured out how to thread, oil and needle it but I am not sure that I am doing everything correctly. Anyone know anything about these machines. Also, Does anyone know anything about the Consew CS-1000 servo motor?
