Instead of the large motor and bell knife, the Ski-Mini uses an oscillating blade to shave the back of the leather. Comes with 2 skiving feet, an edge gauge, small disposal cup for skived scraps and 2 new packages of blades (5 each pack) and 2 nearly new packs of blades. In the US, there are two primary places where the rings are sold: Levenger.com and Rollabind.com. The rings come in a wide variety of sizes. If you buy a punch (which I have), you can put any paper you like into the notebooks. The great thing about them is that the cover folds completely over on itself which makes it very easy to write on. Also, unlike a spiral bound notebook, you can move the pages around. Levenger sells a wide variety of paper, tabs, pockets etc so you can tailor your system. I have an 8 1/2 x 11 size and a 3 x 5 card version. I am going to make my own covers as well. It is a great beginning project for me! thanks Hunio for the inspiration. How did you finish the small areas around the rings? Is that area stitched as well?
