Been looking for one of these sets for a long time. Really hard to find.

Has anyone had any success using linen thread on one of these? I picked one up to check it out. It stiches fine with #69 nylon, but I'd like to run Linen through it for some historical reproduction work. Thanks.

Yes. I am hand sewing. Wasn't sure if the twist mattered.

Hello, I need some help fiding some linen thread. I am working on some reproduction civil war items and the 1860 Ordnance manual calls for White linen No. 3 Shoe thread. I'm having a hard time figuring out what this is in today's thread. I tried looking for Barbours No. 3 right hand twist, but can't find it. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Thank you for the suggestion. Two layers does sound much better. Any suggestion on the minimum oz. leather I can get away with? These are for suspenders, will I need to stitch around the buttonhole as well?

Hello, I am trying to split the end of a strap about 3/4" deep to stitch a length of webbing between the two layers of leather. I've done a few by hand with a razor blade, I was hoping someone might have a suggestion to make this a bit easier. Here is what I am trying to accomplish. Regards, Scott Sheets

I'm having a hard time finding the pine pitch. The rosin and beeswax are no problem...

Hello All, I am looking for a ball of hand sewing wax. Preferably made from rosin, pitch and beeswax. Can't seem to find a source anywhere. If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Scott Sheets smsrods@gmail.com
