Okay, another noob question. How do we adjust stitching in the corners to work out properly? We are sewing rectangular items and having an issue where ending on the current stitch is too far from the edge to start running down the next side, and doing one more stitch puts us over the edge or too close for the next side. How do we handle the corners?

Thanks for all of the help! We will definitely be looking into this. I have a call in to a local shop, but if they don't have it Toledo Industrial Sewing Machines is my fallback since I've already purchased some thread and needles from Bob. Thanks!

Help Finding A Post On Skipped Corner Stitches

Thanks for all of your replies! They did the trick, and Jane is sewing some nice looking corners now! -
Okay, I'm also a noob! What's and edge guide, and where can we get one?

We are still getting used to our Tacsew T111-155. In making pocket notebooks (a cover with a pocket on each side) we are having trouble keeping the sewing lines straight. My wife thinks the issue occurs when thickness changes. In sewing the long edges she goes from 2 layers of leather to 1 layer then back to 2 again. And then in one spot we have an elastic loop sewn in as a pen holder. Are there any tips or tricks of the trade for keeping lines straight when sewing around a rectangular project?

We finally made a decision and purchased a used Tacsew T111-155. My wife has been doing some practicing and trying to get tensions right. Whenever she tries todo a corner it skips a couple stitches. I know iI read a post recently on how to corner, but can't seem to find it. Can someone point me in the right direction?

I'm having trouble with some of my letter stamp sets. Instead of just compressing the leather, they are cutting through the grain and getting part of the leather stuck in the stamp. I end up with the grain surface cut completely out of some of the interior stamp sections. Is there something I can put on the stamp to prevent this that will not alter the leather? Is beeswax a possibility? Thanks for any help you can provide!

I have a chance to pick up a Con sew 225 machine. I mainly sew book covers and small pocket notebooks using 2 layers of 3/4 oz leather. Would this be a good machine for that type of work? Thanks for any information you can provide!

I did read Wizcrafts' post, and unfortunately I'm too much of a beginner at machine sewing to really understand the recommendations. Maybe if I spend more time on this forum I can start to make more sense of it. Thanks!

I have a chance to get a Kenmore model 48 from the late 50's early 60's at a great price (under $50, and it is a single owner machine belonging to the mom of a co-worker!) I currently do all my sewing by hand, but recently found a buyer for leather journals and pocket notebooks. I need to cut the sewing time and wondered if this machine could handle sewing 2 pieces of 2-3 oz veg tanned leather together. Anyone familiar with this machine and whether or not it will handle that type of leather?
