  1. I'm not ready to comment on your Art just yet, I'm looking for the right words, I'll be back in Oh, perhaps three life-times when I find them. In the mean while, someone in the motion picture industry is probably, looking for you.
  2. From the album: Leather Art For "Your Project"

From Indian Territory in Oklahoma, A Signed Handcrafted 16 " X 18 " Quality Leather Painting of Tatonka, The Buffalo Spirit. I'm providing this painting in it's natural, raw state, unframed to allow you to present this spirit as you wish. I prefer it in this state, attached to a wall, etc, but its your call. Actually, The Buffalo Is A Bison. Native Americans did And do, Hold This Great Animal In High Esteem. There Are Several Definitions For The Term Tatonka, But This Is Not A History Class. The Images Of The Native American Are most Always With Spiritual Meaning. The Red And Black In this Classic are Said To Refer To Eagle Feathers. Others Say, The Black, Red, White And Yellows Are The Spiritual Directions Of The Indian Way Or, Red Road. I Had Considered Framing This Piece, However, I Like The Raw Beauty Of The Leather So Much, I Left It As is. The Options Are Wide Open For You And Once Tatonka Becomes Yours, Remember, Show Respect. This Is Quality Leather And Is Coated With Water And UV Protection. This Would Be A Beautiful Addition To The Collector And An Asset To Anyone Who admires and respects the Aho (Indian) ways and culture.
  3. I did visit Oregon Leather and was impressed with their site and ease of navigation. I looked around, but didn't have time to do a dry run to see what the shipping expense might be for a given item. I'll be going back as my leather supply dictates and I have learned from the comments on this Fuzzy," subject and appreciate all the comments. We can learn a lot when we listen. Thank You.
  4. electrathon, you are correct & I'm sure we all agree with you and sometimes its just a matter of economics. That & making due with what we can afford especially, during a learning stage. Thanks for the tip on that Herman Oak leather source, I will visit them.
  5. I have no words for the effort nor the result, but its an image that makes you appreciate a craftsman.
  6. You Have Never Seen One Like This ! If, you are a muscle car fan or a collector, this one is for you. The image is hand drawn and painted on quality Leather 7 ½" x 7 ¾. This is not manufactured, none of the LeatherFlair's work is. "This is not Grand Ma’s Embroidery, not that there is anything wrong with that," this all done by hand. The Super Bee, muscle car of the late 60’s-70s. Actually, only the 1969-70 Super Bees had an emblem on the back and on the front. The others had a decal, big difference. The leather is coated to protect it from moisture and UV. This is a great leather patch or frame it for home, office or the shop.
  7. Walletman,Cyberthrasher and I are somewhat on the same page as far as removing the fuzzies from the leather you're working on. This is the basic process I use for all my leather creations. Now, I may use leather of a different grade and from a different source so, experiment with a piece of the leather first. I use an aluminum block 4" x 2" x 1/2 " just because that was what I had. I then glue a piece of P-400 grain wet or dry sand paper to it. That fits my needs, you may need a rougher or finer grain. After I have cut/shaped/sized my leather for say, a leather bracelet or a belt blank, I lay it flat and I sand both sides, then I sand the both sides & I sand the edges in a bevel fashion untill its all as smooth as I want it to be and I do this on dry leather. This leaves you with a surface that will give you a clean result when carving on it, sharp furrows etc. The smooth surface accepts/absorbs your dye or leather paint evenly and results in a nice, shinny surface. Basically, is like painting your house, clean and smooth the surface. Sanding will also bring to the surface any blemishes in your leather you may not have noticed and it removes any MFG coverings. You can remove any powdery residue with a hand vacuum, etc. No, I can't say this works on every piece of leather as I basically, use veggie tan leather, but it suits my needs. Wishing you success in your efforts

Obviously, you have taken your time and followed your individual, creative thoughts. There is more labor in this piece than meets the average viewer's eye. This is a very interesting creation. I don't have to be into this style to appreciate it and that is what gives meaning to your effort.

The Trail Of Tears In Cherokee the words "Nunna daul Tsuny" mean -- "the trail where they cried." When the Trail of Tears started in 1838, the mothers of the Cherokee were grieving and crying so much, they were unable to help their children survive the journey. The elders prayed for a sign that would lift the mother’s spirits to give them strength. The next day a beautiful rose began to grow where each of the mother’s tears fell. The rose is white for their tears; a gold center represents the gold taken from Cherokee lands, and seven leaves on each stem for the seven Cherokee clans. The wild Cherokee Rose grows along the route of the Trail of Tears into eastern Oklahoma today. This is a signed piece and along with the Tatonka painting is one of my favorites. This painting is done on a quality leather canvas 8 1/2 " x 10 1/2 " and has a moisture, UV protective coating and a high gloss finish
