What shinelightshine said is right, Chromexcel from Horween is some amazing leather. Just received my first hide of it in the mail from Maverick Leather. It has a great look and feel for making small and larger goods too. Also, it does not bleed dye on to anything else. I wouldnt store it near undyed hides, but it doesn't seem like it would do anything anyhow.

Nice stitching!

Thanks everyone! Wavemechanics I'm not really sure about either of those things. The needle I got from my grandfather who had it lying around in his den. The needle is pretty large, though I'm not sure what size people normally use for saddle stitching leather.

Hi everyone,
Here are a couple pictures of my first projects as my introduction to the forum.
First one is a guitar strap i made for my friend. Trying to make look mostly vintage styling.
Second, is a business card holder i made for my dad. Nothing special.
Both a made with regular veg tan leather.
Let me know what you think!
Thank you,
Josiah

Corter, I have much respect for you! Having a successful brand at a young age is admirable! I only hope that i can make this obsession in to a business at some point!

Hi,
Does anyone know who may be able to do custom snaps? In Canada prefferably but US is good too.

Here's a picture of the cardholder I designed. Made of tan Chromexcel, and waxed cord.
Any comments are welcome!\
Sorry for the crappy photo.
