I recently started using tape on the back of my projects when I stamp or carve. What do you about the roughness of the leather when you pull the tape off?

This is a dumb question so be nice. I have been doing leather work for a while. But I still have problems beveling my cut lines. I see others moving the beveler along the line as they are hitting it. What am I doing wrong? I have to move then hit it. Doesn't always create a nice smooth bevel.

Looking for the measurements for making 22cal bullet loops. I found information all several other sizes. Is 32 cal larger or same size?

What do you do when the rough side of leather that is inside of a holster is really rough? I really don't want to line it.

Is there a video or something else to show how to use it correctly? I have tried several times but can't seem to make it look right. Just put it aside but now would like to use it on a project.

Here in your pic it doesn't look like you have much bevel left , I enlarged about 300%
Here is a normal picture of mine , but again they would be different if yours is hollow ground .
Yes the one pictured is hollow ground. My straight blade like yours is what I started out with but it's cuts were worst

Yes I wet the leather and let dry to start looking the color of the leather. This is a cover for a Tandy leather pouch. Maybe 2-3oz.

Yes I did wet form

My latest finished one. Thinking I need to get a sewing machine and learn how to use it. Take a while to stitch theses by hand.

Sometimes when I am doing the cuts for a carving pattern, they don't seem to be deep enough to get nice even indentations when using the bvevelers or other pattern tools. What am I doing wrong? I strop my blade before start. I don't do a lot of carving for that reason. I do stamping more.

What have others found works best for cutting out leather projects as far as simplest and fastest? I have tried the round knife but not a fan. I mostly use a knife I purchased from Tandy that holds utility knife blades.

What are others using to seal your leather projects? I have used super sheen and satin sheen, using the satin because I do not want a glossy finish. I started usingFiebling's leather sheen spray so my dyes don't get smeared or taken off as what happens when wiping it on. Can Resolene be applied over satin sheen? I just fin8shed a rifle scabbard that I just used oil on it then I put satin sheen on it but thinking I should have used resolene

I want to try adding spots to some of my old west holsters. I haven't been able to find any instructions. Would I need to add a lining? Any help would be appreciated
