What are others using to seal your leather projects? I have used super sheen and satin sheen, using the satin because I do not want a glossy finish. I started usingFiebling's leather sheen spray so my dyes don't get smeared or taken off as what happens when wiping it on. Can Resolene be applied over satin sheen? I just fin8shed a rifle scabbard that I just used oil on it then I put satin sheen on it but thinking I should have used resolene

I don't cut too many straps, but when I need to I always have a problem getting the strap cutter to make the initial first. Is there trick to start it? I am using the wooden manual one from Tandys.

When applying antique dye on belt how do you keep it from getting on the back of the belt? Or do you also dye the back?

This has probably been asked before but wasn't sure how to search it. What do you use on a holster and belt that has been oiled not dyed? Don't want it to spot if it gets wet

How do you dye over painted letters? Do you need to put something on the paint to protect it? I am working on a belt that I am using Charlie's for two colors and white paint for the third color. The I am dying the built black.

I feel stupid asking this , but is has been a while since I have done any basket weave stamping. There are basket weave stamps that are angled on the ends and then straight ones. How do you use the angle ones? Are they use like the straight ones and they just give a different look?

In a belt making book I have, it shows a craft tool 8078 edge cutter used to march or cut a boarder edge. I can't find it online so I am assuming this is an old tool not made anymore. What are others using to replace it?

Looking for help/suggestions on coloring/highlighting stamped letters/name on belts and other projects. Do you stamp before dying or afterwards. I have done some but just want to see maybe there are better ways to do it

Is there advantages to lining holsters and belts or is it just mostly for looks? Is there a leather to use that allows actual storing your gun In? I have lined some holsters but don't know if I used the right leather. Haven't lined belts because I do all my stitching by hand and it would take forever.

Dwight how are you applying it? I apply 8t with a damp sponge and it removes the die. Antiques I find to be worst.

I have Had it remove so much it changed the color totally and down to the leather especially when using antique gels. Am I applying it wrong?

What is your favorite leather protective covering? How do you apply it? I like Resoline or super Sheene. But when I apply them they remove some of the dye. Sometimes almost completely. Is this Norma? I have tried using air brush but I have not been able to get any of ,y three air brushes to spray.

STETSON912 Do I apply the gel on the whole project then wipe it down?

I am working on a rifle scabbards. I want to apply saddle tan antique gel. What is the best way? Do you apply to the whole project at one time then wipe it down or do you apply it a section at a time then wipe? What is the best thing to use to apply?

Anybody here using a 12 ton press to emboss leather? How do you know how much pressure to apply and how do you make sure you can apply that pressure ever time?

I am wanting to spay leather dyes and sealers. I started with just sealers using air brushes but they quit spraying. I had someone tell me they use big spray guns. I was wondering what others are using. What is the best?
