Thanks for the note! Well, on this *ahem* attempt, it actually only took about 4 days to complete. The aforementioned timeline included restarting the entire project twice, getting angry, and not doing anything with leather for about six months... lol. Anyway, as for the question about color, it is actually all the different colors I used of fiebings dye, not paint.

The other major accomplishment, having only taken almost two years to finally complete, is my wife's new wallet. Of course, the extended timeline was due to moving across country, work, and a healthy dose of discouragement and procrastination... lol. Anyway, it's finally done and she seems pretty stoked about it.

So it has been quite a while since I have posted anything, but I wanted to share a couple of the projects I have completed in my hiatus from you all. First is a knife sheath fashioned for my nephew. Made as a replacement for a knife that also required a new handle. I really enjoyed breathing new life into this piece and passing it along to the next generation. The design and color scheme was all his choosing.

Thank you Ta2ooz! Bob, yes, I basically just used a swivel knife and beveller. There was a very small amount of pear tool use for a little smoothing, but overall, I kept it very simple, as this is really my first full tooling project. Thank you for your input.

Well, it has been a bit since I have posted or made anything, but I wanted to share the step by step of how it came together, and gather some input on this flask sleeve. It's my first attempt at tooling and staining, so please feel free to give me some input. Yeah, so far I have been massively impressed with the amount of knowledge, information, and the helpful people. The next one I make needs to have a small pouch on the front for some accessory bits, still trying to figure that one out :-/ any ideas?

Hey all, I'm new to the site, and relatively new to leather work. I'll post some pictures of my first attempt at actually taking a project all the way to the end. Overall, it isn't the greatest, but I learned a ton and know where I went wrong in a few places and what works. It's a case for my Gerber multi tool: Now most of my issues with the stitching are due to the back being slightly too small. Also, on the next one I plan to do a sewn belt loop vs. the slits. My edging will be better as I ran across the thread by hidepounder on how to burnish edges and I very much like the looks of them. I am reasonably happy with how the wet form took on the front piece. I like the look of a gloss clear finish, would look nice over some tooling as well. Any other input would be much appreciated. Anyway, I'm glad I stumbled across this site with its amazing wealth of knowledgeable and friendly people. Hope to be able to spend some time and learn a ton from you all! Thanks for reading
