  1. Not an expert on this but i bought a 4mm double shoulder and could have got way more than 10. As Tomg states if they are doubled and thelining that may account but depends on the flaws, quality and thickness i guess. Unless they are stockpiling the scraps! Or they dont possess a strap cutter.
  2. I know some people use clear nail varnish on items they are allergic to.apparently it works but dont quote me !
  3. Nice. I am currently doing a small backpack for the mrs and am a little overwhelmed by the amount of stitching. Having now seen this .........confidence restored!
  4. Thanks biker. I will take a look. Do abbey sell to public? Looked at their site and it is not quite clear. Really like the look of the fireman buckles and would love to do a couple of belts. Cannot find them on any other site. LP is a hard site to use. Gonna wait till i have a decent list to order before using their...unique ordering system! Rflw
  5. Umm...4 mm stem 7mm head I think. I thought it may be too big but in the end it all seemed to come together. Going for a mora sheath next but want to put a modern twist on a bushcraftvstyle sheath somehow.....not sure how though.
  6. I went with the sam brown as i am not enjoying poppers. Such poor quality and difficult to know what is good (for the price). Fixing them is also proving a bit frustrating to say the least. I am realising that some of the older tried and trusted hardware is better. Also living in england you seem to pay a premium, limited stockists and a lot are trade only :/ I have found that cheap imports have flooded every marketplace website so i spend a long time filtering through them to find the better quality items........probably ranting in the wrong place....I expect there is a whole topic on most of my comments Its now seeming the safer option is to import from the states and pay the tax for the peace of mind. 7. Hi all, Just thought i would post an intro. I have been looking through the site for some time but most questions have been answered without having to post. I am a beginner from England who just got fed up with poor quality imported leather goods and thought "I could do that.....but better" Ok so not as easy as it looks! Thouroughly enjoying creating something unique and working with this medium. Wood or metal was never my strong point! Rflw
