  2. Hi Steven, Beautiful work. Can you tell me the thread type and size you are using, and where you purchase it? Also, what is the thickness of leather you are using? I'm still new to leather work. Thanks, Anthony
  3. Thank you Danny, Constabulary and CowboyBob for your replies. Danny, what part of New Jersey do you live in? Anthony.
  4. Hi, I am just starting to learn how to sew and recently purchased a Singer 29-4 Patcher. I have a few questions: 1. Today I learned that a 29-4 is not the same as a 29K4. Is this accurate? 2. It isn't easy to find replacement parts for the 29-4 vs. the 29K4. Part for the 29K4 are still being manufactured. Is this correct? 3. I haven't sown with my machine yet. I need to purchase Thread. www.horsenhaeness.com recommends #138 thread with #69 for the bobbin. Will be learning to sew jacket patches and thin leather projects. Would anyone else agree with this recommendation? 4. Any recommendations for using the machine would be appreciated. Machine is in good condition. Thank you in advance for your help. Anthony New Jersey

  6. Hi, my name is Anthony and I live in New Jersey. I am new to sewing and just got myself a Singer 29-4. I think in was made in 1916. I joined the group to have a resource to find help on learning how to maintain and use the machine. Interested in leather work although I know the machine is not necevssarily the best to work with leather because the presser foot will mark the leather. Any advice would be helpful. Remember, never sewed a stitch in my life.
