Anyone know who sells a needle that you could use for tucking the8 strand cinch cord. I have tried hemostats and they are just too big. Thanks for any info.

My first headstall, when I finished, I found there were a lot of questions I should have asked before I started..I used HO 8 oz and lined it with a 6 oz leather that I picked up from a friend who got the side in Brazil. It seems to be heavily waxed and tallowed. It has a beautiful feel and finish. Do I need to oil the lining? The headstall is hand sewn with linen thread. If I oil, will the thread deteriorate?

When wet forming a holster, do you leave the gun in until the holster is dry, or form it, take the gun out and then let it dry? Thanks PS am lettng it dry in the sun.

I am having a problem with the dye fading on the spots that I form on the holster. I use a rub stick to wet form the outline of the gun and where i rub, the dye fades. I let the dye dry completely (24 hrs). before wet forming. I have to dye before wet forming because I hand stitch with white thread. I am using Feibing pro oil dye. Any suggestions? Thanks

I have a customer who wants a cross draw holster for a Ruger Blackhawk 44 mag. He has already gotten a bullet holder and belt for it and I dont want to tell him that I cant make the holsster...But, this is the first time I have attempted a cross draw and I am lost..The gun is so top heavy it is going to take a lot to keep it in the holster, especially with the angle of a cross draw..I have searched this site for some guidance but cannot find anything that looks as if I can use it..especially since most posts show only the front of the holster and not the back.. any advise would be greatly appreciated..thanks

A friend gave me a Tacsew T188r machine. It works as far as running, but I havn't sewn with it yet. It needs a thorough cleaning. How do I upload a pic larger than 1.46mb?

I am making a holster (first time) for a Navy Colt cap and ball. My boot maker friend told me to use rubber cement, not contact cement for the lining. My problem is that when I try to fold the holster, the lining wrinkles. Am I not waiting long enough for the glue to dry? Thanks for any advise... P.S. I am using pig skin for the lining, not leather. Thanks for any help...
