  1. If it is a water mark it can be removed by carefully warming the area. Techniques include using a hair drier to gently warm the area making sure not to overheat it. Another involves placing a DRY lint free cloth pure cotton cloth (no nylon which might melt), over the mark and using a clothes iron on a low DRY (no steam), setting and warm the wood by gently ironing it through the cloth. An internet search for ‘how to remove water marks from furniture’ will tell you how in more detail. Always start with the most gentle technique and work upwards if it doesn’t work.
  2. Thank you for the advice so far. I prefer the look of the cuff type and I’m thinking of recycling parts of a veg tan leather satchel that I picked up cheap in a U K Charity Shop Rob
  3. Does anyone have a pattern for a carry handle for a Brompton bike? They are crazy expensive to buy even in nylon. While I’m sure I could knock up a pattern it would be nicer to use one someone has already developed. Thank you Rob Naylor
  4. I've just bought one - a vintage CS Osborne from eBay and found your advice very helpful thank you. Here is a video from YouTube that's also quite instructive https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=tEKoBgKp55I
