Hello to all : I started this project after a friend asked me if I could use what was left of his African Sable Cape . He got his sable with a traditional recurve bow in a recent trip to Africa. This is what I came up with. Enjoy the pics : .

Finished this project as a Christmas present to a Missionary friend son . I used massacar ebony wood on the blades, with homemade pins and did file work on the blades. I used a tool I made out of a bolt to do some of the tooling pattern. I added a flashlight holder (115 lumas) a Magnesium firestarter and ball compass. The closures on the sheaths are Rusian Boar tusks my friend shot with his bow. All in all it was a fun project and gift to give to my friends son. He will use and have to pass on for generations to come. Isn't Leatherworking a great way to give to others things that don't come massed produced. And a way to show off our craft and God given talent to others. Hope you Enjoy the Pics.

Hello to all: I make this sheath to fit this knife I just finished. This is the first sheath I have tried with inlay. The knife is pretty common with massacar ebony wood, brass spacers and homemade pins. Enjoy Thanks Goldwing

Hello to all : I finished this sheath to match my knife I made. The talent on this sight is unreal. I hate to post some of my stuff because of the talent on this site make my projects look lame. But her it is anyway. I built the sheath to keep the knife at a very slight angle wanting to not stab me in the side when siting down. The knife is the 4th one I have made. Hope you enjoy the pics.

Well just finished this combo pack. I built the knife and hatchet. This is my first atempt at doing a knife and hatchet. I used curly maple /cocobolo in the handles. I made the pins out of brass and aluminum. The leather I airburshed and used a antler tip to secure the hatchet into the leather combo pack. The steel my wife gave me before we were married 32 years ago. Hope you enjoy the project. Thanks in advance Tim.

Hello to all. It has been a while since I posted. I built this armguard and quiver for my friend. He has won the world championship with a longbow for the last several years. Well a friend asked me If I could redo his seat for his Custom Harley. So I thought I would give it a try. I basketweaved the top put His nickname wolfdog on the back with paw prints. The old one had Harley stiched in the back in red and the seat was big and fuzzy brown material like a Lazeboy chair. So I figured if I did one this might be a good one to start with because I thought anything looked better than the brown one. Well here it is and the bike. (The seat on the bike is one he borrowed until I got his done ). Sorry I dont have a pick of the old brown one. Enjoy.Probably my last seat for a while. Learned alot ready to move on to a new project.

3 different over the shoulder side quivers
Goldwing replied to Goldwing's topic in Archery Quivers and Bow Cases
The spring holder is just that a tight wound coil spring that is covered with leather attached on one side when pushed down or lifted up the spring flexes to release the arrows or load. The leather is very thin and flexible. Thanks for the question. -
2 of my first KNIFE Sheaths
Goldwing replied to Goldwing's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I do the paw prints by using a modified round punch. This lets me punch out each toe and then I use it also to punch out the pads. Its more of an oval type shape. Same punch to make both prints. Then I use a very small hole punch to do the claws and use a awl to do the slinder part of the claws. -
The plugs are made of walnut. Thanks Goldwing

Here are a couple of neck knife sheathes I made for a friend who makes knives. He made the knives and I made the sheathes. They were a gift to a mutual friend that collects knives.

Here are 3 shoulder quivers. The black one has bear prints punched through the leather top and bottom. Also has a stiffer leather sewed to the black textured leather. Bear hair in bottom and in top. Brown one has 2 different leathers sewed together for stiffness. The tooled one has wire to reinforce the cutout in the bottom to help keep it rigid. Bottle holder on other side. This design has spring loaded arrow holder. Arrows can be pushed down into the quiver or lifted out using this spring loaded holder. I got tired of always loading the quiver from the end. Thought I would try something new. Thanks for the comments in advance.

Ruger sp 101 Holster short barrel
Goldwing replied to Goldwing's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Thanks Randy for the imput. The leather I used is 10 oz tooling leather on the first holster. Ostrich print leather on the second one about 8-9 oz. Never made one before not sure what is the best leather to use ? Thanks for the imput on the Toro 3000 how thick of leather will it sew? I do have a Neels sticher but it is limited to the lighter thickness of leather. I hand stiched the first one and used the Neels on the belt only to hold the velcro in place. Used Neels to stich the ostrage print holster. What kind of foot options does the Toro have to offer? The close stiching on my Neels ,seems to be very hard to do because of the foot, doesnt let me get that close to what I am stiching in tight places. What size thread do you use on your holsters? Thanks in advance for the imput.
