  2. Hey guys I need help locating a Thread tension assembly that is the correct on for my Consew 225 I bought this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/THREAD-TENSION-BRACKET-COMPLETE-240446-CONSEW-206-225-226-227-SINGER-111-111W-/111942593058?hash=item1a104c6a22:g:eAMAAOSwu4BVmx70 But.... it doesn't work right and the screw on the tension disc isn't threaded all the way down the shaft like the old one. It doesn't have enough tension to sew my belt leather or even a single layer of 6oz. Thanks
  3. I use an airbrush gun to airbrush on acryllic resolene. It always turns out nice and even finiah, no streak's or smears from a cloth.
  4. I've managed to find a replacement part locally. it's a miracle I tell ya... installed the new part. re-timed the machine and made 3 short runs with some belt leather about 5/16 in successfully I'm still going to call keystone for a new part bc this one is rather old. I'll leave this thread open for now (crossed finger though) thanks guys for your help and knowledge.
  5. The hole for the set screw in the needle bar is broKen around the bottom half and is no longer serviceable. thus the need to change the needle bar. or I might try to drill and tap the other side if that is an option.
  6. This is the page where I found the part, it looks to be a legit Singer part. http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/needle-bar-consew-juki-singer-240498.aspx I'd rather buy once and fix it once. It wasn't hard to remove the needle bar either.
  7. I've found a replacement needle bar online for 13$ maybe 20$ shipped you were correct sir. I'll possiblly take it part this week and replace it once the part comes in.
  8. Thanks for the reply hackish! i disassembled the hook&bobbin case and found a fractured piece of the needle bar under the rotation hook. with that removed i re-timed the machine and oiled everything i could and attempted to sew again, the same problem of "lack of piercing power" persists and eventually finished breaking the set screw. Do you have the info at hand to order a new needle bar? i have no idea where to start looking. thanks again for your help.
  9. I have a consew 225 paired with a 500w servo motor and 3:1 speed reducer. I've been using it to sew gun belts approximately 1/4in of leather. until recently it was working fine. now it was began to struggle to pierce the leather and continue to sew. I am using a 135x16 size 23 needle and 138 thread. could someone help me with this issue please and help me fix it. the machine is no longer operational partly to the problem stated above and now some how the set screw for the needle is broken. so it looks like I'll need some help repair/replacing the needle bar. any advice is welcome...
  10. Thank you for all this info sir. You mind if we change gears..... So I have a fully working consew 225 is it worth while/effort involved to add a reverse function. Or should I buy a new machine head.
  11. Stitch for security or you'll just be making another belt soon.
  12. Thank you sir. I have a working machine now so I'll focus on that one. Thought it might be worth it for the reverse option. Thanks again.
  13. I've come across a singer 431d with reverse. Granted its in a little rough shape missing the bobbin case, feed dog, and walking foot. Along with the tension devise. Is it worth repairing and using?? I have a consew 225 (no reverse ) to sew my belts. I was thinking of repairing the singer and using it BC of the reverse feature. Google has been no help, all ive found is a manual. Thanks in advance
