Hey guys, so hermes do those lovely dual wrap around watch straps, can anyone tell me what i need to look for if i want to buy the same sort of leather to make one myself? Thanks, Andrew
  2. Cow or pig skin? Should have said sticking. Are there tutorials for pig skin lining?
  3. Hey guys can anyone tell me what this guy is stifking his leather to please? Thanks, Andrew
  4. Wow that is beautiful!!!!! Which thickness leather did you use?
  5. Hey guys so I've heard there's a device for smoothing out that edge of leather without having to sand it. What is it called and is it any good, or better than sanding? Also I've heard of a sort of roller stamp for doing basket weave on leather. Anyone got any experience of these and what are they called Many thanks, Andrew

  7. Hey guys, so this is probably the wrong section to post in but here goes. So I'm wanting to make leather fetish harnesses which are basically a bunch of leather belts held together by O rings. Does anyone have good advice for how to make these the right size to go around a person? I'm not a tailor so I have no idea about sizing. Any help massively welcome!
  8. Hey guys so I want to glue some leather together to thicken it rather than stitch it. Can glue actually keep it together properly over the long term or does it separate easily? Is there a glue likely to achieve this or is contact cement of any kind ok?
  9. Interesting ideas here, but how would you go about gluing it in a curved fashion exactly?
  10. Hey guys so I found a site a little while ago that did really thick belt leather, 6 and 8mm thick but I can't find it now. Any ideas anyone? Many thanks, Andrew
  11. Hey thanks all for your feedback! Art, i have PM's Johanna quite a while ago but have received no response hence i am posting here! When i get access i'd be more than happy to post about it in there!
  12. Awesome! Should I apply it before I bend the ends tho? Which airbrush do you use?
  13. Yeah i've watched the videos, but i'm wondering about the flexibility of it in terms of putting it on leather you're going to make into a belt which you then fold over and rivet at the end, would the finish not crack or flake off or is it flexible enough?
  14. Oh wow those results are amazing! So what is the finish like? Does it crack or flake off or wash or rub off? Is painting it with a foam brush no good? Have you anymore pictures of the paint? I'm amazing at how good it looks. Would it withstand being made into a belt using that paint, would you paint it before you bent the ends or after?
  15. 2oz? That seems very very thin to make a harness out of! Rolled hem huh? Can you get a foot to do this for leather? Are there any tutorials for doing this?
  16. Hey guys, i know this is random but can anyone help me identify the sort of thickness of leather being used in this picture? Also, i see sewing on the harness but how do you achieve the rounded edges that are seen there? Are the edges just folded over a bit and sewn? Since it's orange on both sides what have they done here? I'm a noob to sewing you see! Many thanks, Andrew
  17. Well i was hoping to get away from sewing because i've never done any and i don't own a leather sewing machine. Is there no way to glue them together without sewing? I'd post a picture of what i mean but i don't know how to do it you see.
  18. Hey guys, So yes i am new to this leather working thing so stay with me. I've done some research and found a brilliant supplier of all kinds of colours of leather and finishes. But for "belt" like purposes, at 1.8mm thick, it's not really thick enough. So it was suggested i dye veg tanned leather. But can this really be dyed to look brlliantly bright and opaque neon and red and white and all the other sorts of colours, or won't it just look a bit dark and non-vibrant. Is there a way to dye leather by hand to look bright and vibrant. Would acrylic leather paint be an option, or would this just flake off and look terrible? Failing all of this, is there a way to glue thinner leather to thicker leather so as to get a thicker strap thickness of 3mm, without sewing anything together? I'd post a picture but i don't know how to do that Really need your help, Thank you, Andrew
  19. Hey guys, so i see in my research that a lot of people use a marble block for stamping and hammering and punching etc. Where can i get a good thick one but small? Many thanks, Andrew
  20. Ok cool thank you. Is it better to airbrush or to use a foam brush and polish it up nicely? Cos I could get a whole bunch of veg tanned strips from eBay and do that? Or could I use leather paint?
  21. I see ok. So what would be the thickness of leather that i want in millimeters and in ounces?
  22. Couldn't fine their website. What do i need to search for cos i've tried genuine leather 6oz and i just get a whole bunch of hip flasks and i'm not really up to speed with all the terminology only being a noob etc If i want to make a lot of "belts" but at different widths and not out of premium quality super expensive leather, what would be the best way to do that? Can you buy large pieces of thick and stiff leather?
  23. Hey guys, So i'm looking for coloured leather but only at genuine leather grade as they will be made into belt harnesses etc. Can you get this quality leather in belt thickness? Any ideas? Many thanks, Andrew
